How it all started

Over 10 years ago, I wanted to learn German and was looking for a tandem partner – someone I could practice German with and teach something in return.

But every platform I found was based on the same principle: language for language. The problem? I spoke English – just like most others. My offer was barely attractive, and the search dragged on for weeks.

But besides English, I had completely different skills: I could code, played guitar, and had experience in many areas. But no platform allowed me to offer these skills as a trade.

That's when I realized: There needs to be a platform where you can exchange not just languages, but all kinds of skills. Coding for German, guitar for cooking, design for yoga – anything is possible.

That's how the idea for Skill Tandem was born – a free platform that brings people together to learn from each other. No fees, no subscriptions, no restrictions.

Many people looking for tandem partners are students who simply can't afford expensive subscriptions and course fees. That's exactly why Skill Tandem is free – and always will be.
